Which visa restrictions are in Ecuador ?
U.S. , European Union Countries, Australia , Latin America Countries citizens must carry a valid passport, no visas or inoculation are required. Visitors from other countries

please inform you at the Ecuadorian embassy or consulate in your country how the entry restrictions are for your country. As a tourist, you normally do not need a visa when you stay less than 90 days. Passport must be valid 6 months beyond intended stay.

How is the climate in Ecuador ?
Temperatures in the Andes Mountains range from 50º to 75º Fahrenheit between 9,000 to 10,000 feet where you will find Quito .  Generally speaking, the higher the elevation the cooler the temperature.  It tends to be drier from June to September and wettest from January to May.

The Galapagos Islands have a subtropical climate regulated by the cold Humboldt Current and the warm El Niño Current.  December through May is the warmest time of the year, with highs in the upper 80ºs (31º degrees Celsius).  Although the islands receive slightly more rainfall during this time, the lower elevations of the islands where you will spend most of your entire trip typically offer blue skies and sunshine with occasional haze.  The sea is at its warmest and is usually calmer at this time of the year.

Ecuador has many tourist destinations where you can participate in a variety of activities. You can practice mountain biking, climbing, rafting, or scuba diving, as well as visiting archaeological sites, museums, or theaters.

Which medical issues are there?
If you are going to the jungle you will need a yellow fever vaccination. Otherwise there are no vaccinations mandatory when entering Ecuador . However, we advice you to get the following vaccinations:

Typhoid (if you stay for longer periods in the jungle)
Hepatitis A+B
Malaria prophylaxis (if you stay in the coast areas and Amazon Basin )

Which currency does exist and how to prepare for the travel?
Depending on your currency and the US Dollar exchange rate, it can be recommended to exchange money in Ecuador, as the exchange rate can be much better here than in your country. You should take USD in cash with you and/or traveler checks.
The most common credit cards to pay with or to draw cash are: American Express, Mastercard and Visa. In the cities you will be able to use your credit card in many places but when paying cash you can save up to 10%.
